Uqbar is the name of the fictional country at the center of “Tlön, Uqbar, Orbis Tertius, the opening
story of Jorge Luis Borges’s Ficciones (1944). In its current iteration, this wor takes the form of a
dossier of drawings, prints, photographs, and an artist’s book, Upsala - Uraloaltaico. These works
aim to simultaneously document and question the existence of this imaginary place.
